This animated web banner was created using Illustrator and After Effects for a Motion Graphics Software class at PSU. The goal of the assignment was to create a logo and a web banner for a business of our choice. I chose Big Sugar Lumber in Fort Scott, Kansas. This is a lumber company I have worked at for almost five years. For the logo, I started in Illustrator creating two compositions. One contained the words "Big Sugar Lumber" in large text, and another containing the design elements for the second half of the animated logo. I created layers for all design elements as well as every single letter in Big Sugar Lumber. 

My instructor noted in my first draft, that the web banner would be moving so fast, that it would be almost impossible to read the phone number and the text. My instructor suggested that I remove these elements from the web banner. I also increased the size of the logo to better fit the title/action safe area. Here is a before and after:
